About Us

Our Mission
The Social Justice Arts Festival is established for the expressed purpose of creating a space for art and justice to meet and inspire dialogue amongst community members, social work students, and the University of Michigan family at large.

The annual Social Justice Art Festival will take place on Saturday, March 18th 2017 from 12:00 – 6:00 pm at the University of Michigan Trotter Multicultural Center.

The event aims to explore how art can be used as a mechanism to promote social justice and/or change. The theme for this year is In Our Space: Using Art to Name Our Reality.

Are you interested in contributing art? The art submission period is now open for 2015. The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 24th. We welcome all forms and mediums of art, including but not limited to: visual, performance, digital, musical, interactive, workshops, and more!

We also welcome volunteers to help before and during the event. Email us at sswartfestival@gmail.com to get involved!
